One day, emperor Akbar desired to eat sweet and delicious mangoes. He ordered his soldiers to get few mangoes to his repose building. While he was eating and enjoying the taste and flavour of the delicious mangoes, few funny and weird thoughts cropped up in his mind. So, he sent message asking Birbal to meet him right away. Once Birbal joined him, the emperor gave few mangoes to Birbal to eat. While both of them were eating, emperor Akbar put his mango seeds in Birbal's plate instead of his plate. Birbal noticed the emperors action, however, he continued to enjoy the mangoes pretending innocence. In order to make fun of Birbal, Akbar said, "It seems you are too hungry. See, how many fruits you ate", showing him the seeds on Birbal's plate. Birbal immediately replied with modesty, "Its true that I am hungry. However, not as much as you are. You ate the mangoes with out even leaving the seeds". Akbar was amused with the response. He appreciated Birbal's presence of mind and for conveying the truth in a nice way.Saturday, 27 February 2016

Tit for Tat
Once upon a time in a dense forest, there lived lot of animals. The animals lived in friendship. A fox came to the forest for the first time. The animals didn't like the fox and so they neither made friendship nor talked with it. Once, the fox went to lake for water and saw a crane trying to catch fish. It initiated a sweet talk with the crane and invited to its house for dinner. The fox's idea is to gain confidence of the crane and make friendship with other animals with its help. The crane which got duped with the fox's sweet talk, went to its house for dinner on one fine day. Even though the fox invited the crane for dinner, it was reluctant to serve food to the crane. Hence, it served the delicious food on 2 plates and placed one of the plate before the crane. Due to its long beak, the crane could not eat the food from the plate. The fox ate the food happily. Having understood the fox intention, the crane said, "I liked your hospitality a lot. Tomorrow, do come to my home for dinner".
Next day, the fox went to the cranes house. "I went to the lake early in the morning and get some fish. I cooked delicious fish soup for you. You will never forget the taste of it, in your life" said the crane and poured the soup in a jar with a narrow neck. It offered one of the jar to the fox. As the fox could not insert its mouth in the jar, it failed to eat the delicious soup. On the other hand, the crane happily took the fish one by one, praised the taste and ate happily. Even thought the fox was hungry, as it could not eat the soup. It said, "I am not hungry" and started to return. On seeing that the crane said, "This is called tit for tat" and laughed at it.

Ramalinga's smartness
Once upon a time in a village, there lived a famous painter, Srikanth. One day, a rich merchant in the village, Dhana Gupta, came and asked to draw his picture. Srikanth worked for 7 days and drew his picture. However, Dhana Gupta didn't like the diagram at all, and asked to redraw it. Srikant took another 7 days and redrew the picture. Dhana Gupta didn't like that one as well. In order to trouble Srikanth, he told the pictures didn't have his features, they are not his pictures and left the place. As two weeks of hard work went in vain, he complained it to Tenali Ramalinga and begged him for justice. Ramaling gave him a trick and asked to implement the same. As suggested by Ramalinga, Srikant wrote "Fool" on one of the Dhana Gupta's picture, "Idiot" on other one and placed in front of his home.Dhana Gupta, saw the pictures while he was going on that way and initiated an argument with Srikanth saying, "you defamed me" . Srikanth replied, "When the pictures didn't have your features and not yours, how will they defame you". Dhana Gupta realized that he was defamed due to his own over smartness, paid for both the pictures and took them with him.

Regretful
Once upon a time, there lived peacock in a forest. It considered itself as superior for being beautiful and showed arrogance with other birds and animals in the forest. It ridiculed crow saying, "You are black and ugly". It said to pigeon, "you are white and pale". Also said sarcastically to cuckoo that sings pleasantly, "There is no difference between you and crow as long as you don't open your voice". It commented rabbit saying, "you are a coward who escapes even for a bit of noise/sound". It ridiculed all other animals in the similar fashion.
One day all the birds came together and shared their troubles. The peacock came there and said, "Since everyone is over hear, enjoy my marvelous dance" and started to dance. It got involved in dance and didn't notice the hunter came across there. All other birds slowly escaped from the place. The hunter threw his net and caught the peacock. He tied the net to a tree and went to drink some water". The peacock cried and said, " I got a appropriate retribution for ridiculing others". A crow on the tree heard the peacock regret and flew to rabbit and asked to save the peacock. The rabbit went to the net and cut it with its sharp teeth. The peacock sincerely thanked crow and rabbit for saving its life ignoring all the ridicule it made.
